Supplier Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have registered in the Supplier Registration Database, what do I do next?

A: Once you have registered in our prospective Supplier Database, your profile will be routed to one or more purchasing managers within our organization depending on the type of products or services you offer. Because of the volume of inquiries that we receive, you will NOT be contacted by a purchasing manager until a purchasing need matches what your company has to offer. Your company profile will remain in our database for one year.

Q: I am a certified minority-owned, women-owned, or disabled veteran-owned vendor. How can I do business with Alliance Data?

A: All prospective suppliers use the same process to register with Alliance Data to be reviewed. The registration forms capture the supplier's diversity status and this information is made available to our Supplier Diversity group.

Q: How can I get in touch with a purchasing manager to discuss a product or service my company offers?

A: Due to the large volume of inquiries we receive and changes that occur in our purchasing organization, we do not provide direct phone numbers or email addresses of our purchasing managers. Instead we use the Supplier Database as a means of routing information to one or more of our purchasing managers by product category. If you have a product or service you would like to introduce to Alliance Data, please register with us in the prospective Supplier Database and your company information will be made available to the appropriate purchasing managers.

Q: Where can I see a list of jobs to bid on?

A: We do not post a list of open jobs or Request for Proposals (RFP). Our purchasing managers will search in our Supplier Database for matching suppliers when an RFP is required and will contact these suppliers by phone or email.

Q: What is an NAICS Code?

A: Beginning in 1997, the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) was replaced by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). This six digit code is a major revision that not only provides for newer industries, but also reorganizes the categories on a production/process-oriented basis. This new, uniform, industry-wide classification system has been designed as the index for statistical reporting of all economic activities of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Q: My company is privately-owned and we don’t give out our annual sales. Why does Alliance Data require this?

A: The annual sales figures allow us to determine whether you are qualified as a small or large business.
